A message by President and Secretary

Indian Psychiatric Society, Uttar Pradesh State Branch (IPS-UPSB) is registered as Association of Clinical Psychiatry (ACP). ACP was established to promote the advancement of science of psychiatry and related disciplines, promote highest possible standard of clinical practice and ethical behavior in psychiatry in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The state branch is the newest of the state branches of India. Yet, we will be attempting to keep it vibrant and active for the welfare of the mental health professional as well as the people we care for, our patients and their families. We wish to occupy a strong and credible position for the promotion of science, newer advancements and dissemination of knowledge in psychiatry among our fellow colleagues in the state of UP.

Since our first online conference, we have had very successful conferences in the subsequent years. We had a mid term conference in Lucknow (2024) followed by an annual conference in Jim Corbett which was attended by more than 150 delegates from the state and other parts of the country. Our last annual conference in Agra (2025) was also very well attended and included faculties of national as well as international repute. Moving forward, we aspire to continue fostering meaningful relationships and offer a platform for like-minded professionals to share practical knowledge. On a similar note, we are proud to announce the 6th Annual Conference of UP-IPS scheduled to take place in Gorakhpur on the 24th and 25th of October 2026.

Through this venture, we hope to bring together both experts from the field and budding psychiatrists from Uttar Pradesh, India, for interactive sessions
